“Partner with the Youth to Protect and Beautify our Land”

Welcome to our website.

Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland members continue to protect, conserve and beautify our state as they have done for the past 80 years. My mission as President for the 2009 – 2011 term is to encourage clubs to “partner with the youth…” as we accomplish these goals. We already have many clubs doing wonderful projects with our youth and many young gardener clubs are engaged with worthwhile community activities.   Tapping our young people will foster an appreciation for the wonder and beauty of our natural world.

Our new NGC president is Renee Blaschke from Smithville, Texas. Her theme for the 2009 - 2011 term is “Embrace the World around Us—Love It-- Beautify It-- Protect It.”  This theme will be promoted with two wonderful projects, "Golden Days" and "Beautify Blight". Young gardeners can participate in either of these projects.

The Executive Board and State Committee chairmen are an enthusiastic group committed to what the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland represent. Together our state board will work to assist, guide, and help individual clubs achieve these goals.

Belonging to the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland is a positive and rewarding experience, not only because of the wide range of projects and activities available, but the invaluable lifetime friendships that are established.

It is a privilege and honor to serve as the State President for 2009-2011.

Jeanne Davis,
President
